One World Beef Case Study

DATA SUMMARY:

7 to 10 million gallons saved annually, world class scale, corrosion and bacteria control

OVERVIEW

One World Beef is a beef processing and cold storage facility located in Brawley, California where temperatures in the summer months often exceed 100 degrees. The water treatment system consists of 6,000 tons of cooling and eight cooling towers.

Due to the significant amount of cattle processed and frozen at this plant, running an efficient cooling system is a critical part of the operations at this site.

Prior to working with Capture H2Othis plant utilized a traditional water treatment program to treat its cooling water. Combined with the high heat and demand for cooling, this treatment approach led to scaling issues and significant water consumption.

OUR SOLUTION

One World Beef started using the Capture H2O High Cycle Program in May of 2022. This program couples patented technology with high level service and wireless monitoring, resulting in significant water and cost savings.

With the high efficiency softeners installed on the makeup water line to the eight cooling towers, the plant has been able to raise its cycles of concentration from two to 25 cycles of concentration, or, in other words, significantly decreasing the amount of water going to the drain. This change is expected to save the site between 7 and 10 million gallons of water annually.

The Capture H2O High Cycle Program solves for scale without a scale inhibitor, and solves for bacteria without any biocides. This has drastically reduced the chemical consumption at this site and made the site safer for employees and the environment.
